for the past few years, i have reread 6 books that inspire me to live better. one of those books is "let your life speak" by Parker Palmer. there is only 110 pages in this book; but it is filled with priceless observations about listening for the voice of vocation within. i look forward to reading this book each year and seeing what new insights connect with me. if you haven't read it, please go to amazon and buy it now...
here's one of my favorite quotes from the book, "true self, when violated, will always resist us, sometimes at great cost, holding our lives in check until we honor it's truth."
are there any books that you find yourself rereading from time to time? what are they and why?
i am constantly re-reading "God was in this place and i, i did not know" by Lawrence Kushner. Its brilliant and new every time.
(and also, hi, hello, and i found your blog.)

this is such an unfair question. you know i read your blog and you know i'd have to think of an answer.
this might take a day or two...
but in the meantime, i'm with you on parker palmer. you gotta love those quakers, good books and good oats.

Ah, Steve...this book Brad Nelson and I are currently reading together. It is a refreshing book while at seminary.
A book I try and read every year...
-In the Name of Jesus-
Books...aren't they such great keys to the inner worlds of ourselves and others!

here's my rough list of books i consistently reread:
In The Name of Jesus by Henri Nouwen (just like my wife!)
Jewish Spirituality by Lawrence Kushner
Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott
Everything Belongs by Richard Rohr
The Meaning of Jesus by Marcus Borg + N.T. Wright
The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis
If Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pursig weren't so long it would probably be on my list also.
And I'm thinking that Let Your Life Speak would be a great addition as well...
